It is always rad to have Silversun Pickups roll into Austin.The last time SSPU took the stage in the ATX was South by Southwest of 2009, so fans were totally ready for some serious rock & roll with Brian, Nikki, Joe and Christopher. It was great watching the sold out crowd at Stubbs singing along to “Well Thought Out Twinkles,” “The Royal We,” “Panic Switch” and of course, “Lazy Eye.” Here are a few pictures taken by Dangerbird Erin and our good friend Matt Shiv. Well, it is easy to say that last night’s Grammy telecast was quite a spectacle. From Lady Gaga and Pink showing off their “goods” to the Michael Jackson 3D tribute, it was a very interesting night. We were mighty proud that Silversun Pickups were nominated for the Best New Artist category, and even though they didn’t take home the trophy, it was still a mighty incredible honor. While rolling down the red carpet, Brian, Nikki, Joe and Christopher were interviewed by TV Guide. Here is the footage:
Just a quick reminder that the Grammys are coming up this Sunday evening. Silversun Pickups have been nominated for Best New Artist, along with the Zac Brown Band, Keri Hilson, MGMT and The Ting Tings. We’ll be glued to our TV sets for this one!
